Looking up from Latopie lake. The cleft at the left is where the Pacific Crest Trail emerges from the valley behind.

That valley leads into Sardine Meadows, which is what we skied in May (you can see highway 108 from the cleft).

If you followed the PCT through the cleft, you would pretty soon enter Blue Canyon, and look down on Deadman lake.

In this picture, the PCT leads left (south) without changing too much in altitude. This is from where we came today. Leavitt peak would be to the left of this picture.
